COSTS FOR APPRENTICES & TRAINEES

The HGT hourly on-cost is calculated annually charged as an hourly rate and includes:

  • Annual Leave
  • Leave Loading
  • Sick Leave
  • Workers' Compensation Insurance Premium & Case Management
  • Payroll Tax
  • Administration, Counselling and Monitoring Expenses

 * All School Based Trainees are paid a minimum of 16 hours per fortnight  (i.e. If a trainee works 14hrs you will still be liable for 16hrs as per the Award)

 

Other Charges

Penalties are paid in accordance with the Award and may include the following:

Overtime:

  • when over 10 hours in one day have been worked
  • when over 76 hours have been worked in a fortnight
  • if an apprentice has worked on a Rostered Day Off 

Meal Allowance:

  • paid in accordance with the Award

Morning/Evening Penalty:

  • for hours worked before 7am and after 7pm, Monday to Friday

Weekend Penalty:

  • Saturday and Sunday are paid at a rate of time-and-a-half (only the extra half time is charged as a penalty)

Laundry and Equipment Allowance:

  • Unless provided by the host, all apprentices receive a fortnightly allowance

GST:

  • GST of 10% will be added to the total of your invoice. You will be able to offset this amount as an input tax credit.
