The HGT hourly on-cost is calculated annually charged as an hourly rate and includes:

  • annual leave
  • leave loading
  • sick leave
  • workers' compensation insurance premium & case management
  • administration, counselling and monitoring expenses

* All School Based Trainees are paid a minimum of 16 hours per fortnight (i.e. If a trainee works 14hrs you will still be liable for 16hrs as per the Award)

 

Do any other charges apply for hiring a Hospitality Group Training apprentice, trainee or school based trainee?

Yes, penalties are paid in accordance with the Award and may include the following:

  • Overtime:
    • when over 10 hours in one day have been worked
    • when over 76 hours have been worked in a fortnight
    • if an apprentice has worked on a Rostered Day Off 
  • Meal Allowance:
    • paid as per the Award
  • Morning/Evening Penalty:
    • for hours worked before 7am and after 7pm, Monday to Friday
  • Weekend Penalty:
    • Saturday and Sunday are paid at a rate of time-and-a-half (only the extra half time is charged as a penalty)

  • Laundry and Equipment Allowance:

    • Unless provided by the host, all apprentices receive a fortnightly allowance

  • GST:

    • GST of 10% will be added to the total of your invoice. You will be able to offset this amount as an input tax credit.
