Monica Gillespie, Industry Manager

 

 

Monica has extensive experience in hospitality operations and completed a Diploma of Hospitality Management before working in various bars, restaurants, wedding venues and small catering companies.  She then secured a position at Perth Races within the restaurants before being promoted to Function Co-ordinator where she was responsible for function operations and the co-ordination of large scale events including the Perth Cup.  Monica then progressed into the position of Assistant Catering Manager at the Perth Convention Centre where she was responsible for overseeing all functions and conferences. From there she moved into Event Operations as Floor Manager, overseeing major events, exhibitions and concerts for a 2500 people capacity theatre. Monica continued to develop her career and started working for HGT as a training consultant whilst completing her Certificate lV in Training and Assessment. During her time with HGT Monica has gone on to achieve a Bachelor of Business Degree majoring in Hospitality and now holds the position of Industry Services Manager.
