In 2015 Hospitality Group Training (HGT) and the Beer and Beef Club Perth paired up to create a competition for apprentice chefs, offering the exclusive opportunity to embark upon a “expenses paid” culinary journey to Sydney. We will once again be offering a top Apprentice Chef the opportunity to travel to Sydney to gain experience working alongside a top chef in a standout venue.
At the same time HGT will be hosting an Apprentice Chef from NSW based Group Training Organisation HTN.
This is a unique opportunity for apprentices to gain exposure to high end restaurants in Sydney’s thriving hospitality scene. Many qualified chefs don’t even get this exposure and it is a fantastic way to broaden the learning experience for apprentices and reward them for putting in the extra effort.
To apply for the exchange spot HGT Apprentice Chefs will need to submit an essay describing Perth's current food scene and providing us with their thoughts on the next food trend for Western Australia.
Entries will be judged by members of The Beer and Beef Club Perth who are providing the generous sponsorship for the competition. The Beer and Beef Club and its members are keen to support the next generation of chefs who will take over Perth's culinary scene in the coming years.
The competition is available to current HGT Apprentices only. Entries will close on 12th January 2017.
