HGT has launched “HGT Taste of the Future” Schools Cooking Competition - open to Year 11 & 12 Students in WA Schools. “ The Taste of the Future” schools cooking competition will assist in raising awareness and promoting chef apprenticeships to secondary school students in responding to labour and skills shortages in the hospitality and tourism industry.
The following students have been announced as Finalists for the Taste of the Future School Cooking Competition.
· Ruby Jane Clifford - Warwick Senior High School
· Hannah Fraser- La Salle College
· Monique Bringdal - Pinjarra Senior High School
· Filicity Timms - Belmont City College
· Isaac Hanson - Mindarie Senior College
· Alexander John Corinaldesi - Hamilton Senior High School
· Tyson Allanson - Cyril Jackson Senior Campus
Finalists will compete in a cook off at Belmont City College Trade Training Centre - on 22nd October 2013 judged by a panel of leading Perth chefs. The prize for the winner is an apprentice scholarship valued at $2500 worth of Training College fees in addition to Government tools for trade support plus additional cash prizes for other place getters.
The schools attended by the top finalists will also receive a $1000 voucher for kitchen / cooking equipment for their school.
