2018 HGT Taste of the Future Schools Cooking Competition

Are you creative and love to cook? Thinking about pursuing a career as a chef? Then you should enter the Hospitality Group Training Taste of the Future Competition presented by Oil2U. Turn your love for cooking into a career – an opportunity to taste your future! You need equal parts of inspiration and education. Hospitality Group Training can guide you and support your talents towards a career as a chef.
The Competition is open to all Year 11 and Year 12 students throughout Western Australia. Each school can enter one student to the Taste of the Future Competition. The top 9 finalists will be invited to take part in a cook-off judged by 3 of WA’s top chefs. If you are selected for the top 9 you will have the opportunity to match your skills against others who share your passion and show WA what you can do.
The prize for the winner is a Chef Apprenticeship position with Hospitality Group Training once you leave school. Oil2U will also pay all of your Training College fees for the 3 years of your apprenticeship, valued at $5,500. The winner will also receive a cash prize.
There are also cash prizes available for the top 4 finalists.

How to Enter
Entrants should contact HGT for an application pack, these can be obtained by emailing email@example.com or calling us on (08) 9481 1602. Entrants will be required to complete the application form and submit along with a one page essay on why they want to be a chef. Each submission should include a photograph of a dish they have cooked.
We can only invite 9 finalists to the competition cook-off so it is important to make sure your entry stands out.
